a sustainable stay in Western Transdanubia

Available in 2020.

We are eco camping "a Diófa"

We are a small-scale eco-campsite where sustainability is central. Do you enjoy hiking or mountain biking? Go and explore the surrounding mountains, forests and castle ruins. Or walk a part of the “Országos Kéktúra” (National Blue Trail), the oldest hiking trail in Europe, and according to National Geographic one of the 25 most exciting walking destinations in 2020. Prefer taking it a bit easier? Visit the Buddhist peace stupa, spend a day relaxing in a thermal bath or at Lake Balaton, or enjoy your holiday and the tranquillity of our location in front of your tent or camper. In good weather you can make a fire or BBQ in the fire pit, in rainy weather you can use the communal meeting place.

It doesn’t matter what you’re interests are, as long as you do it sustainable.

F.A.Q.

"Is this the shower?... "

Yes, this is the shower.
The hot water is heated by the sun (that is, when it shines 😎 ). The bottom is open. People cannot see your body, but they can see that you are in the shower.

"Is this the toilet?..."

Yes, this is the toilet.
We make use off a urine-diverting dry toilet. Solid- and liquid parts are collected separately, to make compost. It's a bit different, but doesn't smells more than a normal toilet. That is, as long as you follow the rules!
Note: Men must also urinate sitting.

"Is there 220V?..."

No, there is no 220V available.
We promote Sustainable Tourism to help lowering humans footprint.
A 5v/2.4A USB charging point is available. You need to bring your own cable.

"Is there WiFi?..."

No, there is no WiFi available.
We think of our location as a resting place, a place without hurry. Where everyone can enjoy some peace and quietness, and where everyone is able to come to themselves again.

"Will the chickens wake us up early?..."

No, but the rooster probably will
However, our chickens do lay eggs. Which, with sufficient production of course, are for sale.
